It&#39;s easy to add international roaming services online. Review the international options on this page and follow the prompts. AT&amp;T provides multiple options for getting wireless service while traveling abroad, including <a href="https://www.att.com/international/day-pass/">AT&amp;T International Day Pass</a>, <a href="https://www.att.com/international/cruise-packages/">AT&amp;T Cruise Packages</a>, and <a href=" https://www.att.com/offers/international-plans/ppu-calling-messaging-rates.html">pay-per-use</a>.

If you have purchased an international roaming package or otherwise added international roaming service and turned on your wireless phone abroad, it will automatically search for a wireless network. When the name or network number of the local operator is displayed, your phone should be ready to use.

	<li>To call or send a message back to the U.S., simply dial +, followed by 1, then the area code and number.</li>
	<li>To call or send a text to another country, dial +, followed by the country code and local number.</li>
</ol>

With most devices, the + sign will appear if you press and hold the 0 key.

Text messaging is typically available in all countries in which AT&amp;T has international voice roaming service&mdash;more than 225 destinations. Data services are available in over 210 destinations.

Enter + then 1, followed by the area code and the number you are contacting. With most devices, the + sign will appear if you press and hold the 0 key. For calls or messages to another country, dial +, followed by the country code and local number.

If you are having difficulty using data services outside the U.S., try these troubleshooting steps:

Smartphones and tablets:

	<li>Confirm Cellular Data Roaming is enabled in your device settings.</li>
	<li>If that doesn&#39;t work, then power down your device and power back on.</li>
</ol>

PC cards: Remove the card, reboot the computer and then reinsert the card.

You are charged based on the international roaming package on your account.&nbsp; If you have not added a package, <a href="https://www.att.com/international/pay-per-use-rates">pay-per-use rates</a> will apply.&nbsp; International roaming rates apply for calls made and received.&nbsp; International roaming rates apply for messages sent, but your domestic messaging rate applies to messages received while outside the U.S.

When receiving standard voicemail messages: Standard voicemail messages received when roaming outside of the U.S. are charged at international roaming calling rates, based on the international roaming feature on your account, or if you have not selected a feature, pay-per-use rates will apply.

When receiving Visual Voicemail messages: Visual Voicemail messages received when roaming outside of the U.S. are charged at international roaming data rates, based on the international roaming feature on your account, or, if you have not selected a feature, pay-per-use rates will apply.

Yes. AT&amp;T offers talk, text, and data service on over 175 cruise ships. Discount packages are available for customers taking cruises on select ships. For a complete list of cruise ships and details, go to <a href="https://www.att.com/international/cruise-packages/">att.com/cruise.</a>

There are two requirements:

<ol>
	<li>An LTE network must be commercially available to AT&amp;T customers roaming in the visited country.</li>
	<li>Your device must be LTE-capable and compatible with the frequency (band) over which LTE is deployed on the foreign network. If LTE is not available or your LTE device does not support the LTE frequency band(s) required, you will automatically attach to a network with the next fastest data speed, typically 3G.</li>
</ol>

&bull; AT&amp;T customers must have a domestic rate plan that allows 5G access and an international roaming feature added to their line.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.att.com/olam/loginAction.olamexecute?callingSystemId=eCare&amp;key=ecare&amp;returnURL=https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1404153/?key=ecare">Sign in</a>&nbsp;to find out if your plan has 5G access and if you already have an international roaming feature. 
&bull; International 5G coverage is limited to select 5G devices. A 5G capable device that is enabled for 5G band n66 in Canada and band n78 in all other countries is required. Please check your wireless technology specifications to see if your device is capable. 
&bull; Be in a country with international 5G roaming commercially available to AT&amp;T customers.

&bull; iOS&nbsp;&ndash; 5G bands n66 and n78 are enabled on iPhone 12 and up. For more 5G and LTE band info, check <a href="https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/">https://www.apple.com/iphone/cellular/</a>. 
&bull; Android&nbsp;&ndash; Current Android devices enabled for international 5G bands n66 and n78:

If your rate plan allows access to 5G, if you have an international roaming feature, and a 5G capable device, your device will simply indicate 5G on your phone display.

&bull;&nbsp;If you do not have an international feature on your line of service, international <a href="https://www.att.com/international/pay-per-use-rates/">pay-per-use</a>&nbsp;rates will apply when you talk, text, or use data. 
&bull;&nbsp;International talk, text, and 5G data access is included in AT&amp;T Passport,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.att.com/offers/international-plans/day-pass.html">AT&amp;T International Day Pass</a>, or similar plans for international travel at no additional charge. Note, you must still have an underlying domestic plan with 5G access.
